Sister taxa: Cryptospirifer omeishanensis, Cryptospirifer shawanensis, Cryptospirifer transversa
Type specimen: Sb 4144. Its type locality is Changjianggou Section, Maokou Fm, Shangsi, Guangyuan County, which is in a Wordian shallow subtidal limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
Ecology: stationary low-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Changjianggou Section, Maokou Fm, Shangsi, Guangyuan County
