Sister taxa: Ischyrotoma borealis, Ischyrotoma juabensis, Ischyrotoma parallela, Ischyrotoma sila, Ischyrotoma stubblefieldi, Ischyrotoma twenhofeli, Ischyrotoma wahwahensis

Type specimen: GSC 56879, a cephalon/head. Its type locality is Catoche Formation type section, which is in a Cassinian open shallow subtidal limestone/dolomite in the Catoche Formation of Canada.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

Distribution:

• Ordovician of Canada (5: Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador collections)

• Cassinian of Canada (10: Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador)

• Jeffersonian of Canada (2: Newfoundland)

Total: 17 collections each including a single occurrence
