Belongs to Pseudohystricurus according to R. J., Jr. Ross 1951

Sister taxon: Pseudohystricurus obesus

Type specimen: YPM 18301, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Locality 5, Hillyard's Canyon, Zone "A", which is in a Gasconadian shallow subtidal limestone/mudstone in the Garden City Formation of Idaho.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

Distribution: found only at Locality 5, Hillyard's Canyon, Zone "A"
