Type specimens:
- Clypites typicus: Its type locality is Nanga, white limestone between Ceratite Marls, Salt Range, which is in a Dienerian marine sandstone in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan
- Clypites evolvens: Its type locality is Virgal, Ceratite Marls, Salt Range, which is in a Dienerian carbonate limestone in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan.
- Clypites kingianus: Its type locality is Virgal, Ceratite Marls, Salt Range, which is in a Dienerian carbonate limestone in the Ceratite Marls Formation of Pakistan.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
