Belongs to Lampropeltis according to D. Parmley and K. B. Hunter 2010
Sister taxa: Lampropeltis calligaster, Lampropeltis getulus, Lampropeltis intermedius, Lampropeltis triangulum
Type specimen: Its type locality is Norden Bridge Quarry, which is in a Barstovian channel sandstone in the Valentine Formation of Nebraska
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Canada (1: Saskatchewan collection), United States (7: Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota)
Total: 8 collections each including a single occurrence
