Sister taxon: Prohemeroscopus jurassicus

Type specimen: JME SOS 1673, a hindwing. Its type locality is Blumenberg quarry, Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Jura Museum JME collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore
