Sister taxon: Afrotriassothemis regularis
Type specimen: C-Dt II 791ab, a wing (Almost complete wing). Its type locality is Bird's River (C-Dt II), which is in a Carnian lacustrine - small shale in the Molteno Formation of South Africa.
Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore
Distribution: found only at Bird's River (C-Dt II)
