Sister taxon: Afrotriassothemis heidiae

Type specimen: C-Dt II 760ab, a wing (almost complete wing). Its type locality is Bird's River (C-Dt II), which is in a Carnian lacustrine - small shale in the Molteno Formation of South Africa.

Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore

Distribution: found only at Bird's River (C-Dt II)
