Sister taxon: Susisuchus jaguaribensis

Type specimen: SMNK 3804 PAL, a partial skeleton (Incomplete partially articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Between Nova Olinda and Santana do Cariri, which is in an Aptian terrestrial horizon in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
