Type specimens:
- Rhipidomella hessensis: YPM 12642, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is R.E. King 107, Hill 5725, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Hess Formation of Texas.
- Rhipidomella lengwuensis: Its type locality is Lengwu, lower Cunhouling Member, Tonglu, which is in a Capitanian coastal siliciclastic in the Lengwu Formation of China.
- Rhipidomella pusilla: Its type locality is Lengwu, lower Cunhouling Member, Tonglu, which is in a Capitanian coastal siliciclastic in the Lengwu Formation of China.
