Sister taxa: Pincombea minuta, Pincombea parvifurcata

Type specimen: J. Mitchell Coll. P 2, a forewing. Its type locality is Belmont, Darling Street quarry (1920-1921 collection), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
