Type specimen: BMNH IN 26827, an exoskeleton (complete fly). Its type locality is Florissant (BMNH Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

Distribution: found only at Florissant (BMNH Collection)
