Sister taxa: Nymphalites atavus, Nymphalites obscurus, Nymphalites zeuneri
Type specimen: AMNH Fl 18827, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Florissant, Station 14, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Florissant, Station 14
