Type specimen: USNM 38056, a tegmen (well preserved forewing). Its type locality is Near Pittston, roof shales of Vein C, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania.

Distribution: found only at Near Pittston, roof shales of Vein C
