Sister taxa: Myrmeciites goliath, Myrmeciites herculeanus

Type specimen: 2003.2.10 CDM 034, an exoskeleton (well preserved body fragments and wing). Its type locality is Black Creek Road Locality (Horsefly River), which is in a Ypresian lacustrine shale in Canada.

Distribution: found only at Black Creek Road Locality (Horsefly River)
