Sister taxa: Notostrophia bifurcata, Notostrophia homeri, Notostrophia zealandicus

Type specimen: UQF 73933. Its type locality is UQ L4571, Rose's Pride Mine, which is in an Artinskian coastal sandstone/conglomerate in the Buffel Formation of Australia.
