Sister taxa: Stomiocrinus diligens, Stomiocrinus ferruginus, Stomiocrinus strictus
Type specimen: CPC30669, a calyx. Its type locality is Donnelly's Well type section, which is in a Kungurian marine sandstone in the Bulgadoo Formation of Australia.
