Type specimen: B. 4a, an exoskeleton (complete female fly). Its type locality is Ruby River, between Peterson and Morman Creeks, which is in a Whitneyan lacustrine shale in the Renova Formation of Montana.

Ecology:

Distribution: found only at Ruby River, between Peterson and Morman Creeks
