Type specimens:
- Phascolestes mustelula: Its type locality is Mammal Bed, Durlston Bay (DB83), which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom
- Phascolestes longirostris: BMNH 47741, a mandible (partial left mandible).
Distribution: found only at Mammal Bed, Durlston Bay (DB83)
