Sister taxa: Retiogastrioceras meitianense, Retiogastrioceras pulchrium
Type specimen: NIGP 34267. Its type locality is Fengcheng County, Laoshan Member, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Loping Formation of China.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Average measurements (in mm): shell diameter 20.1
Distribution:
• Permian of China (2 collections)
