Type specimens:
- Permithone belmontensis: J. Mitchell Coll. 52, a forewing (left forewing). Its type locality is Belmont, Darling Street quarry (1920-1921 collection), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
- Permosmylus pincombeae: Its type locality is Belmont (Pincombe 1925 coll), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
