Type specimen: MCSN 8343, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Val Mara VM 227, Meride, Monte San Giorgio, which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Meride Formation of Switzerland.

Distribution: found only at Val Mara VM 227, Meride, Monte San Giorgio
