Sister taxa: Typhothauma agari, Typhothauma excelsa
Type specimen: CNU M-LB200401, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2004 collection, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2004 collection
