Type specimens:

  • Anteophthalmosuchus hooleyi: NHMUK R3876, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Tie Pits, Atherfield Point, Isle of Wight, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lagoonal limestone in the Vectis Formation of the United Kingdom.
  • Leiokarinosuchus brookensis: NHMUK 28966, a partial skeleton (Partial skull, posterior portions of the mandible. 4 cervical vertebrae and ribs, and 5 paravertebral osteoderms). Its type locality is Brook (Hastings collection), which is in a Hauterivian/Aptian terrestrial horizon in the United Kingdom.
