Sister taxa: Tococladus kargalensis, Tococladus rallus, Tococladus similis

Type specimen: Coll Lapeyrie Ld LAP 308ab, a forewing (nearly complete well preserved forewing). Its type locality is F19, Arièges, Lodève Basin, which is in a Kungurian pond claystone in the Salagou Formation of France.
