Sister taxon: Charonoscapha grossa
Type specimen: PIN 2997/1845, an exoskeleton (female without head, abdomen, fore- and middle legs). Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2997), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan.
