Sister taxon: Amitchellia brevis

Type specimen: BMB 018506/7, a forewing. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Swanage, Dorset (Mitchell coll), which is in a Berriasian peritidal limestone in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.
