Sister taxon: Archaeopelecinus tebbei

Type specimen: CNU-HY-NN2006068, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2006 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.

Distribution: found only at Daohugou (CNU 2006 collection)
