Sister taxon: Pyralites obscurus
Type specimen: NHML I.8640, an exoskeleton (decapitated body and remains of both fore- and hindwings). Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll)
