Sister taxa: Cretophotina mongolica, Cretophotina santanensis, Cretophotina selenginensis, Cretophotina serotina
Type specimen: PIN 3064/8585, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064, bed 31), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl/siltstone in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation.
