Sister taxon: Sinaspideretes wimani
Type specimen: IVPP-V996, a partial shell (incomplete shell, consisting of lateral parts of the carapace and a complete plastron). Its type locality is Gaofengshan, Dazu, which is in a Bathonian/Callovian terrestrial horizon in the Shaximiao Formation of China.
Distribution: found only at Gaofengshan, Dazu
