Sister taxon: Aeschnophlebia miocenica

Type specimen: IWCMS 2004.52, a wing. Its type locality is Thorness Bay, Bembridge Marls, Isle of Wight (IWCMS coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bembridge Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.

Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of the United Kingdom (2 collections)
