Type specimens:

  • Necymylacris scudderi: KU 9, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Haverkampf farm , which is in a Kasimovian estuary/bay shale in the Lawrence Shale Formation of Kansas.
  • Dinoblatta cubitalis: Its type locality is L 14 Potomac Mining Co., Moore's Run, which is in a Stephanian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Conemaugh Formation of Maryland.
  • Dinoblatta fortis: Its type locality is BB 25. Opp. Barnum, which is in a Stephanian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Conemaugh Formation of Maryland.
  • Ottweileria schmidti: Slg. d. Verf. 503(504, a tegmen. Its type locality is Quarry of the brickworks Sick-Söhne, which is in a Stephanian fluvial-lacustrine shale/bituminous coal in the Lower Ottweiler Schichten Formation of Germany.
  • Phyloblatta purkynei: Its type locality is Nýřany (Insect Collection), which is in a Moscovian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Kladno Formation of the Czech Republic.
  • Phylomylacris reisbachensis: U 5295, a tegmen. Its type locality is Colliery Dr A Schäfer at Reisbach, which is in a Stephanian B lacustrine shale in the Heusweiler Schichten Formation of Germany.
