Type specimen: Naturhist. Ver. Bonn 11 (37), a wing. Its type locality is Altenwald mine, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial shale/bituminous coal in the Lower Saarbrucker layer Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Altenwald mine
