Type specimen: USNM 4089, a partial skeleton (xiphiplastron, cervical vertebra, isolated ilium, several fragmentary appendicular elements). Its type locality is Black's Fork, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

Distribution: found only at East side of Elk Creek
