Sister taxa: Cantalum gratum, Cantalum tianense

Type specimen: USNM 251852. Its type locality is V5A3, V5A traverse, Punta San Hipolito, Baja California, which is in a Norian basinal (siliceous) chert in the San Hipolito Formation of Mexico.

Ecology: passively mobile planktonic omnivore

Distribution:

• Triassic of Mexico (2 collections)
