Type specimen: UCMP 42780, a partial skeleton (Almost complete skull, attached mandibular rami and pectoral girdle with several centra, branchial arches and a median branchial element). Its type locality is UCMP V4744, Thaba N'chu, which is in an Induan terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at UCMP V4744, Thaba N'chu
