Sister taxa: Baptemys garmanii, Baptemys nanus, Notomorpha gravis

Type specimen: USNM 4103, 4129 (one individual), a partial shell. Its type locality is A point near Bear River, 6 miles north of Evanston, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.

Ecology: aquatic herbivore-omnivore

Distribution: found only at A point near Bear River, 6 miles north of Evanston
