Type specimen: UBA 5772. Its type locality is Arroyo Piedra Azul, Bed BM6, Sierra Pillahuinco, which is in a Sakmarian marine shale in the Bonete Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Arroyo Piedra Azul, Bed BM6, Sierra Pillahuinco
