Sister taxa: Colbertia falui, Colbertia lumbrerense
Type specimen: DGM 152-M, a tooth (Left m3). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.
Ecology: scansorial herbivore
Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
