Type specimen: MCT 2830-M (ex- DGM 896a-M), a tooth (Left m1?). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.

Ecology: scansorial omnivore

Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
