Sister taxon: Wanostylops youngi

Type specimen: IVPP V 12666, a maxilla (Left upper jaw). Its type locality is 1 km south of Xinzhuang Village, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Tujinshan Formation of China.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution: found only at 1 km south of Xinzhuang Village
