Type specimen: SBEI 1728, an osteoderm (an isolated, seventh left peripheral). Its type locality is Oarashidani, which is in an Aptian fluvial sandstone/conglomerate in the Akaiwa Formation of Japan.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution: found only at Oarashidani
