Type specimen: NMW 1985/10, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Naturhistorischen Museum Wien collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
