Sister taxa: Culiseta gedanica, Culiseta lemniscata
Type specimen: USNM 546528, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Constenius Park (Kishenehn), which is in a Lutetian lacustrine - large shale in the Kishenehn Formation of Montana.
