Sister taxa: Pleurofrechites arcticus, Pleurofrechites johnstoni, Pleurofrechites lineatus, Pleurofrechites subsidens
Type specimen: GSC 28351. Its type locality is GSC 83862, northwest of Wapiti Lake, which is in a Fassanian marine horizon in the Sulphur Mountain Formation of Canada.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution:
• Triassic of Canada (3: Alberta, British Columbia collections)
