Type specimens:
- Craspedochelys picteti: NMS 8510 (holotype; formerly NMS 129), a partial shell (left anterior portion of a shell with poorly preserved plastron). Its type locality is Limestone quarry within or around Solothurn, which is in a Kimmeridgian shallow subtidal limestone in the Reuchenette Formation of Switzerland.
- Craspedochelys crassa: NMS 8507 (holotype; formerly NMS 130), a partial shell (poorly preserved carapace fragment). Its type locality is Limestone quarry within or around Solothurn, which is in a Kimmeridgian shallow subtidal limestone in the Reuchenette Formation of Switzerland.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Limestone quarry within or around Solothurn
