Type specimen: SMNS 46978, a partial skull (Skull subdivided into two parts: one including the rostrum and the other including the neurocranium. The tympanic bullae are missing.). Its type locality is Aguada de Lomas, which is in a Tortonian foreshore siltstone in the Pisco Formation of Peru.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Aguada de Lomas
