  • Nothosaurus marchicus: Lost part and MR R.2 counterpart, a skull. Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin: Orbicularis beds, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in the Karlstadt Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus crassus: MB R.3.1-3. Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin (Schaumkalk), which is in an Anisian marine horizon in the Jena Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus oldenburgi: MB R.1. Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin: Orbicularis beds, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in the Karlstadt Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus procerus: MB R.4. Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin: Orbicularis beds, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in the Karlstadt Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus raabi: MB I.007.18, a skeleton (articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin: Orbicularis beds, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in the Karlstadt Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus schroederi: BGR 611. Its type locality is Rüdersdorf, near Berlin (Schaumkalk), which is in an Anisian marine horizon in the Jena Formation of Germany.
  • Nothosaurus winterswijkensis: NMNHL St 445530, a skull (skull with partial lower jaw and possible hyobranchial element). Its type locality is Steengroeve Winterswijk, which is in an Anisian peritidal limestone in the Vossenveld Formation of the Netherlands.
