Insecta - Neuroptera - Hemerobiidae
Pictet (1854) provided distinguishing characters for Macropalpus elegans, but Hagen (1856) synonymized Macropalpus (as "Mucropalpus") with Hemerobius, and created a replacement name to avoid homonymy with Hemerobius elegans Stephens 1836.
Alternative combinations: Hemerobius resinatus, Prolachlanius resinata
Invalid subtaxa: Macropalpus elegans Pictet 1854 [replaced name], Mucropalpus elegans Pictet 1854 [replaced name]
